Chains That Can Live at 5,400 Feet
Pine life is outside life: trailheads off the 87, creek days, wood smoke in October. A welded chain suits it because there is no clasp to snag on a pack strap or work glove, and nothing to take off and set on a cabin counter. Gold filled is the pick we recommend most up here. It is a thick bonded layer of real gold that shrugs off sunscreen, sweat, and creek water without tarnishing. Oxidized sterling runs darker and quieter if you want something that does not announce itself. Rose gold and colored enamel round out the wall.
